How do I borrow a book?

  1. Books and other reference materials may be requested to be borrowed online and checked out of the NALLRC with minimal contact. Under the initial phase, only PUP faculty, staff, and students can request items for checkout.
  2. To place a request, search for library materials in the library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). Use your PUP Library Account for this. You may request up to five (5) items for faculty, administrative employees, officials; and three (3) items for students at one time.
  3. When your items are ready, you will receive an email sent to your PUP Webmail address directing you to use an online calendar to schedule a checkout date and time and provide you with details about how to get your items.
  4. Your books will already be checked out for you and placed in a paper bag, minimizing contact. Each library location will have a takeout approach that involves minimal contact between you and the library staff.
  5. Bring your PUP ID card on your scheduled checkout appointment and follow safety and health measures.
